Creating Cards

There are four ways to get cards into Flipnem. For details on card types (Basic and Cloze), see Card Types.

Manual Entry

  1. On the Decks page, click Create Deck.
  2. Choose Manual.
  3. Click Add card, choose a card type, fill in the fields, and save.

Hashcard Markdown Import (Scholar+)

Write cards in a plain-text .md or .txt file using simple Q:/A: prefixes and import the file. See Hashcards Format for the full syntax and import instructions.

API — Programmatic Creation (Scholar+)

Flipnem exposes an API and MCP server for programmatic deck creation and AI-driven review sessions. See the API and Enabling Flipnem MCP in Claude docs for full details.
